Benjamin Banneker

On November 9, 1731, Benjamin Banneker was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Banneker was a Black inventor, author, mathematician, and astronomer. He invented a wooden clock and the basis for today's reverse mortgages. He also wrote a farmer's almanac and tracked the 17-year locust cycle.
